1. Integrated Emergency Combined Driver
In each of the lights, an emergency kit is included, making it suitable for use in corridors, parking lots and/or garages of offices and residential areas in case of power failure. However if you notice closely,

In the latter product, however, the compatible emergency kit & driver acts in a parallel bypass circuiting, which reduces the lifespan of the whole system, during each recharging cycle.
Ni-Cd batteries have a higher number of rechargeable cycles, in comparison to the Li-ion battery and can operate over higher temperatures, unlike the Li-ion battery.
The Li-ion battery, however, does not require periodic discharge, while the Ni-Cd battery requires full discharge before recharging. However, the Li-ion battery has a shelf life based on the life of the battery and is not dependent on the charging/discharging cycles.
3. Quality of LED and heat dissipation
LED lights are a lot more efficient, considering that they are made from SMD technology. However, the quality and placement of the chips on the circuit board have a direct impact on the heat dissipation and hence, on the lifespan of the luminary.
The V-TAC dome light has LEDs aligned in a larger surface area on the circuit board for efficient heat dissipation, which in turn leads to lengthy lifespan. The latter, though, has LEDs aligned in a smaller cross sectional area, leading to lesser heat dissipation which in turn leads to lumen depreciation. As a result, the luminary would have a reduced lifespan.
4. Emergency mode functioning
The V-TAC dome light has all LED chips connected to the emergency panel - this means that all LED chips will function during an emergency, providing sufficient light. The alternate, in spite of having SMD technology chips, has ONLY one LED chip working under emergency conditions.
